Mohapeloa published the score of Chabana Sa Khomo, his adaptation of traditional songs sung when the skin of an animal is scraped to make a blanket, in 1935. The Morija Training College Male Choir recorded it in December 1936 at the Gallo Studios, Johannesburg, a recording conducted by Bennie Mashologu. This historic track was reissued by ACE as Track 4 on the CD African Choral Legacy: Historic Recordings of Joshua Pulumo Mohapeloa in 2014.
