This electronic piece lasting almost 36 minutes is based on the three musical letters C-H-E, or C-B-natural-E. It appears to be a longer version of song for christine, which also uses C-H-E. The latter was recorded in Reddy’s parents’ home at 43 Nugget Road, Durban on 23 January 1984, and probably refers to Reddy’s colleague at the University of Durban-Westville at the time, Christine Lucia. It is safe to assume that che was created around the same time as song for christine.
