Jehova Oa Busa
R49.00
Moerane chose verses 1, 4, 5 of Psalm 93 for Jehova Oa Busa, adapting the text by adding, deleting, and repeating words in order to create a three-verse hymn. The image of God seated on a throne higher than oceans or floodwaters tells us that faith sustains the faithful through all of life’s trials and tribulations, and the flowing, rising and falling melodic lines in triple metre beautifully convey this confident message of spiritual security. Given the pauses and rests between verses 1 and 2, it would appear that Moerane thought of the song as being for congregational use and the Soprano line is indeed wonderfully mellifluous to sing, although Jehova Oa Busa would also make a good choir anthem. In order to help choirs learn this song, a free mp3 of the lyrics spoken by Mpho Ndebele is downloadable when the song is purchased along with a rehearsal mp3 of the song at a slow tempo.
