Mosele
R49.00
Mosele is like a choral fanfare for female voices, a relentlessly syncopated, joyful song, and one based on a traditional source from Lesotho. ‘Mosele’ is a generic Sesotho name for a girl child, who is normally the youngest in the family. Moerane’s first granddaughter was called ‘Mosa’, which is quite close, and perhaps it celebrates her although if that is the case, the Sesotho lyrics (about a bad hair day) are not very flattering. In order to help choirs learn this song, a free mp3 of the lyrics spoken by Mpho Ndebele is downloadable when the song is purchased along with a rehearsal mp3 of the song at a slow tempo.
