four piano pieces
R59.00
The four piano pieces were written over a period of seven years, c1978 to 1985, during the course of which Reddy relocated from London where he had been studying at the Royal College of Music and King’s College, to Durban, where he took up his first university teaching post at the (then) University of Durban-Westville, and where his parents lived. The pieces are highly personal statements, ranging from baroque to romantic in style and often not fully notated. He may have begun chaconne as early as 1978 and completed it around 1981, while song is from 1982, both written in London. In South Africa he wrote nocturne (1983) and hymn (1984). The audio file below, of Reddy playing them in concert, may assist in the interpretation of these sometimes rather provisionally notated scores.
